techno-optimism

I don’t believe we have to put ourselves into techno-optimist or techno-pessimist camps. When I think about human advancement, I orient around Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. I believe our deployment of technology to date has been incredible for satisfying lower-level needs, but when it comes to our higher-level needs of belonging and self-esteem, I think technology has been more harmful than helpful.
