Guild Education Raises $265M Series F
This blog is called Glass Half Funded, but the reality is women don’t receive anywhere near half of venture capital funding.
In 2021, companies with women-only founding teams received $6.4B of venture capital funding, according to PitchBook. And even though that was 82% growth over 2020, it only represents 2% of overall VC funding. Over 80% of VC funding went to companies with all-male founders last year.
In June, GHF tracked 29 deals across U.S. companies in various industries with founding teams of all women. Funding across these deals totaled $643.0M, which represents the highest month in 2022 so far, thanks to a few large deals. The average deal size was $22.2M and the median deal size was $5.1M.

THE AVERAGE DEAL SIZE WAS $12.9M AND THE MEDIAN DEAL SIZE WAS $5.8M. IN AUGUST, GHF TRACKED 17 DEALS TOTALING $109.7M, WHICH REPRESENTS THE LOWEST MONTH IN 2022 SO FAR BY DOLLAR AMOUNT. THE AVERAGE DEAL SIZE WAS $6.5M AND THE MEDIAN DEAL SIZE WAS $3.0M.

Vanta, which provides software to help companies receive compliance certifications, raised $110M of Series B funding. The round was led by Craft Ventures. The company was founded by Christina Cacioppo, and is based in San Francisco, CA.
Enko Chem, an analytics company helping farmers protect their crops, raised $70M of Series C funding. The round was led by Nufarm. The company was founded by Jacqueline Heard, and is based in Mystic, CT.
AltPep, a biotech company, raised $44.4M of Series B funding. The company was founded by Valerie Daggett, and is based in Mercer Island, WA.
Elevate K-12, which offers livestreamed instruction to classrooms, raised $40M of Series C funding. The round was led by General Catalyst. The company was founded by Shaily Baranwal, and is based in Chicago, IL.
Boatsetter, a network connecting boat owners with renters, raised $38M of Series B funding. The round was led by Level Equity Management. The company was founded by Jaclyn Baumgarten, and is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Boulder Care, a telehealth company focused on substance abuse, raised $36M of Series B funding. The company was founded by Stephanie Strong, and is based in Portland, OR.
