This blog is called Glass Half Funded, but the reality is women don’t receive anywhere near half of venture capital funding.

In 2021, companies with women-only founding teams received $6.4B of venture capital funding, according to PitchBook. And even though that’s 82% growth over 2020, it only represents 2% of overall VC funding. Over 80% of VC funding went to companies with all-male founders last year.  

In April, GHF tracked 31 deals across U.S. companies in various industries with founding teams of all women. Funding across these deals totaled $449.1M, representing 19% growth over March and the highest month in 2022. The average deal size was $14.5M and the median deal size was $5.7M. 

Ellevest, an investing platform built by and for women, raised $53M in Series B funding. The round was led by BMO Corporate Banking and Contour Venture Partners. The company was founded by Sallie Krawcheck, and is based in New York, NY.

Eleanor Health, a mental health and substance use care provider, raised $50M in Series C funding. The round was led by General Catalyst. The company was founded by Corbin Petro and Nzinga Harrison, and is based in Waltham, MA.

Javara Research, an integrated research organization, raised $40M in Series B funding. The round was led by General Atlantic. The company was founded by Jennifer Byrne, and is based in Winston-Salem, NC.

Real, a digital mental health platform, raised $37M in Series B funding. The round was led by Owl Ventures. The company was founded by Ariela Safira, and is based in New York, NY.

Madison Reed, a hair coloring beauty company, raised $33M in venture funding. The round was led by Sandbridge Capital. The company was founded by Amy Errett, and is based in San Francisco, CA.

Diligent Robotics, an AI-powered robot company, raised $30M in Series B funding. The round was led by Tiger Global Management. The company was founded by Andrea Thomaz and Vivian Chu, and is based in Austin, TX.

Evernow, a healthcare service provider focused on menopausal women, raised $28.5M in Series A funding. The round was led by New Enterprise Associates. The company was founded by Alicia Jackson, and is based in San Francisco, CA.

Future Family, a provider of affordable fertility care, raised $25M in Series B funding. The round was led by Munich Re Ventures. The company was founded by Claire Tomkins, and is based in San Francisco, CA.

Enveil, a data privacy and protection platform, raised $25M in Series B funding. The round was led by USAA. The company was founded by Ellison Anne Williams, and is based in Fulton, MD.

ReadySet Technology, a tool for developers to build no-code applications, raised $24M in Series A funding. The round was led by Index Ventures. The company was founded by Alana Marzoev, and is based in Beverly Hills, CA.

NovoPayment, a banking-as-a-service platform, raised $19M in Series A funding. The round was led by Fuel Venture Capital and IDC Ventures. The company was founded by Anabel Perez, and is based in Miami, FL.

Beam Impact, a company that enables brands to let customers make donations, raised $13.3M in Series A funding. The round was led by Index Ventures. The company was founded by Alexandra Salvatore and Viveka Hulyalkar, and is based in New York, NY.

Compt, which provides perk management software, raised $13M in Series A funding. The round was led by Battery Ventures. The company was founded by Amy Spurling, and is based in Cambridge, MA.

Aunt Flow, which sells organic menstrual products, raised $8.5M in Series A funding. The round was led by JLL Spark. The company was founded by Claire Coder, and is based in Columbus, OH.

Landed, which improves the hiring process for hourly workers, raised $7M in Seed funding. The round was led by Blockchain Capital and Javelin Venture Partners. The company was founded by Vivian Wang, and is based in San Francisco, CA.

Amydis, a company using chemistry to detect diseases, raised $5.7M in venture funding. The company was founded by Stella Sarraf, and is based in San Diego, CA.

Influur, a professional networking platform for influencers and brands, raised $5M in Seed funding. The round was led by Point72 Ventures. The company was founded by Alessandra Angelini, Fefi Oliveira, Paula Coleman, and Valeria Angelini, and is based in Miami, FL.

Five to Nine, a virtual event planning service, raised $4.2M in venture funding. The company was founded by Denise Umubyeyi and Jasmine Shells, and is based in Chicago, IL.

Indicio Tech, a decentralized identity software provider, raised $3.5M in Seed funding. The company was founded by Heather Dahl, and is based in Seattle, WA.

Out of Office, a travel app, raised $3.5M in Seed funding. The round was led by Hyde Park Venture Partners. The company was founded by Coabi Kastan and Jan Seale, and is based in Chicago, IL.

BabyQuip, a baby gear marketplace, raised $3.5M in Seed funding. The company was founded by Fran Maier, and is based in Santa Fe, NM.

Ruth Health, a telehealth company for pregnant people, raised $2.4M in Seed funding. The round was led by Giant Ventures. The company was founded by Alison Greenberg and Audrey Wu, and is based in Los Angeles, CA.

HacWare, an email security company, raised $2.3M in Seed funding. The round was led by Elevate Capital. The company was founded by Tiffany Ricks, and is based in Dover, DE.

Sunscoop, which sells plant-based ice cream, raised $2M in Seed funding. The round was led by Vibrant Ventures. The company was founded by Carli Blum, and is based in Los Angeles, CA.
